As a strong leader in the eye health industry and the originator of soft contacts lenses, Bausch & Lomb has held their own! Starting in November of 2016, Bausch & Lomb introduced their exclusive ONE by ONE Recycling Program. Since then, they have recycled nearly 27 million used contact lenses, blister packs, and top foils. The recycling program owes tribute to Terra Cycle, their collaborator who collected and repurposed hard-to-recycle post-consumer waste. Because of this, TerraCycle has stopped the polluting of contact lens from entering landfills, streams, oceans and lakes. Not only are the Bausch & Lomb contact lens disposable, the lenses are manufactured in facilities that have zero-waste-to-landfill initiatives. Its clear to see that Bausch & Lomb contributes to the reduction of waste and pollution of our eco-systems greatly. Not only that, they have many other ways of giving back to communities such as the Guide Dog Foundation and the Optometry Giving Sight.
